Fifteen tourists stranded in Hidden Valley rescued

Kathmandu, Oct 31: Fifteen tourists, including three Britons, who had been trekking along the Dhaulagiri Circuit, have finally been rescued. They had been stranded in the Hidden Valley due to heavy snowfall since Tuesday. On Wednesday, a joint team comprising the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and trekking guides was dispatched to the site to carry out rescue efforts.

Severe snowfall, low visibility, and poor communication made the rescue operation challenging. However, after three days of relentless effort, the team successfully located the stranded trekkers in the Batasedanda area, situated at around 4,900 meters above sea level.

According to the Nepali Army Public Relations and Information Directorate, the rescued tourists were safely escorted to Yak Kharka and are now being taken back to Jomsom along with the rescue team.
