Heavy snowfall halts tourists at Larke Pass, movement banned in upper areas
Manaslu: Continuous snowfall since last night has forced tourists heading towards Larke Pass to stop at Samdo, the last village on the route. Over 100 foreign tourists are currently staying in Samdo, awaiting clearer weather, according to tourism entrepreneur Nima Lama.
Snowfall has exceeded one meter so far, prompting the Armed Police Border Security Force to ban travel to upper areas until conditions improve. Dinesh Gurung, guiding a group of foreign tourists, confirmed that all tourists are safe and staying in Samdo.
Locals reported that telephone and internet services are functioning, though Ward Chairman Karma Chhewang Lama noted that the solar-powered telephone tower may be offline during extended periods without sunlight. All tourists visiting the Manaslu area remain safe, and no one is stranded along the trekking route.
