Cabinet expansion: Two ministers sworn in

Kathmandu: Two newly appointed ministers have taken the oath of office and secrecy today.

Newly appointed Minister for Health and Population Dr. Sudha Gautam and Minister for Youth and Sports Bablu Gupta were sworn in by President Ram Chandra Poudel at a special ceremony held at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas.

Earlier, four ministers were said to be sworn in this morning, but only two ministers were sworn in at the last minute.

Dr. Gautam is a former secretary at the Ministry of Health, while Gupta is a leader of the Gen-Z Movement. They were appointed by President Poudel today on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

The current Council of Ministers has reached 10 with today’s expansion. Earlier, the Council of Ministers was expanded on the 15th and 22nd of September.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Karki, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, ministers, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Indira Rana, heads and office bearers of constitutional bodies, high-ranking officials of the Government of Nepal, heads and officers of security agencies, and others.
