Seven people die, 10 injured in jeep accident

Triveni (Rukum Paschim), Oct 24: Seven persons died on the spot when a jeep met accident at Banphikot rural municipality-7 in the district.

A jeep (Ra 1 Ja 422) heading to Syalakhali of Athbiskot municipality-2 from Khalanga met with an accident this evening, according to Police Inspector at District Police Office, Hari Prasad Pun. Those losing their lives in the accident were Kamala Oli, 30; Tekjung Budha, 16; Dilmaya Budha, 15; Manika Oli, 17; Sharmila BK,18; Gopal Oli, 22; and an unidentified person from Syala of Athbiskot municipality-2.

Ten others have been injured in the incident. The police have rescued the injured ones and taken them to the District Hospital, Salle. The jeep had slid 700 metres down the road. Further details on the accident are awaited.
