NC General Secretaries’ appeal for voter registration drive

Kathmandu, Oct 24: General Secretaries of the Nepali Congress, Bishwo Prakash Sharma and Gagan Kumar Thapa, have appealed to the party line to be involved in voter registration as per the Election Commission’s notice.

The Election Commission is registering and updating the voters’ list till mid-November. They appealed to the province committee office bearers and members of the party to launch an ‘all-out campaign for voter registration’ immediately after the Chhath festival. They reminded the party leaders and cadres that the country would hold the election coming on March 5.

The General Secretaries issued a joint circular, drawing the attention of the district committees and subordinates to participate in the voters registration drive. The party leaders and cadres are instructed to inform the youths about the process for registering their names as voters.

The process of acquiring citizenship and a voter identity card should be made clear to the youths, Sharma and Thapa reminded.
