PM Sushila Karki calls for unity in festival message

KATHMANDU – Prime Minister Sushila Karki has urged all Nepalis to come together with unity and determination to build a peaceful, prosperous, and well-governed Nepal.

In her message to mark Tihar, Mha Puja, Nepal Sambat 1146, and Chhath, the Prime Minister extended best wishes to Nepalis at home and abroad. She emphasised that unity in difficult times is part of Nepal’s cultural tradition and called on everyone to work together to create a brighter future.

“Let’s not be confused or divided. Together, we can overcome challenges and move toward a better Nepal,” she said.

PM Karki also reaffirmed her commitment to holding clean, fair, and peaceful elections by March 5, 2026, and promised a stable and accountable government. She said efforts are ongoing to improve political dialogue and strengthen national security.

She highlighted the influence of the Gen-Z movement, which he said has brought renewed energy and responsibility for change. “The government is committed to inclusive and transparent governance, fighting corruption, and ensuring justice, especially regarding incidents during the Gen-Z movement,” she added.

The Prime Minister said the government is laying the foundation for long-term development and good governance, inspired by the hopes of the new generation.

Concluding her message, she said that Tihar, the festival of lights, represents hope, prosperity, and justice, and also encouraged everyone to celebrate with a spirit of unity and optimism.
