Kaligandaki Corridor: Motorable bridge constructed over Setokhola stream
Myagdi, Oct 18: A motorable bridge has been constructed over the Setokhola stream in Thasang Rural Municipality–3, Mustang, under the Beni–Jomsom–Korala section of the Kali Gandaki Corridor roadway, a national pride project, connecting China and India.
The Beni–Jomsom–Korala Road Project Office, Mustang, has constructed a 25-metre-long motorable bridge. After the construction of the bridge, the need to ferry vehicles across the Setokhola River ended.
The Information Officer of the Project Office, Bishnu Chapagain, said that the 11-metre-wide RCC bridge has been constructed for Rs 63 million, 579 thousand, 696. According to Chapagain, 13 out of the 24 motorable bridges that need to be constructed on the 202-kilometre-long Jomsom-Korala road have been completed.
Engineer Chapagain stated that the construction of two additional motorable bridges over the Kaihku and Kowang rivers in Thasang Rural Municipality has reached the final stage.
