Minister Kharel for aligning contract-based employees with SSF

Kathmandu, Oct 12: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagdish Kharel, has said the contract-based employees should be enlisted with the social security fund (SSF).

As the government employees are provided with a pension, those working on a contract basis must be ensured an SSF facility, Minister Kharel said, while monitoring the office of the Minimum Remuneration Fixing Committee Office.

“Government is committed to bringing the media persons under the SSF scheme,” he shared. According to him, the government has underlined the need to bring the informal sector workers into the SSF facility. Concrete policy and budget would be put in place to this end, he informed.

On the occasion, Committee Chairperson Sangita Khadka viewed that once those working on a contract basis were brought under SSF, it would benefit thousands of employees.
