October 7, Kathmandu: Energy Minister Kulman Ghising inspected the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Load Dispatch Centre in Syuchatar in Kathmandu on Monday evening. He reviewed electricity production, transmission, distribution, grid operations, demand-supply management, exports, and flood-damaged projects.

Addressing frequent power outage complaints, Ghising, a former NEA Executive Director, discussed short-, medium-, and long-term reforms for a reliable, modern power system.

He urged immediate repairs of flood-damaged structures and prioritised the 220 kV Marsyangdi Corridor and 400 kV Hetauda-Dhalkebar transmission lines.
