Communication Minister Kharel directs subordinate agencies to prepare against potential disaster risks

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has instructed all its subordinate agencies to be prepared to minimize potential loss of life and property from disasters.

In an emergency meeting held today, Minister Jagadish Kharel urged communication-sector bodies to regularly provide public awareness messages, as the government remains alert to potential risks posed by ongoing rainfall and is making necessary preparations.

He also directed telecommunications service providers to ensure uninterrupted communication for the public and to promptly restore services if any disruption occurs.

During the meeting, Secretary Radhika Aryal and Public Service Broadcasting Nepal Executive Chairman Dr. Mahendra Bista, along with officials from subordinate agencies, reported that their teams are on high alert to address continuous rainfall and associated risks.
