Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund set up

Kathmandu, Sept 25: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Kulman Ghising, has called on one and all to support the campaign of reconstruction of physical structures damaged during the Gen-Z protest.

At a programme organised at the Ministry today, he shared that ‘Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund’ has been established for the reconstruction of the damaged physical structures, relief, rehabilitation and economic revival.

Minister Ghising requested the federal government, province governments, local levels, private sector, Nepali citizens, foreign nationals, Non-Resident Nepalese communities, neighbouring countries, development partners and international organisations to participate in the campaign of nation building by making invaluable contribution.

“The vandalism and arson on physical structures during Gen-Z protest caused a huge loss of lives and properties. So the fund has been established for different purposes including reconstruction of physical structures, economic revival and relief distribution,” he argued.

The government has also formed physical infrastructure reconstruction committee for the same. The government has urged the international community for the support with a request, ‘Call for global support: Urgent appeal for the restoration and reconstruction of Nepal’s public assets.’

The Minister also expressed commitment to spend the amount collected in the fund in a transparent manner.

One can contribute to the government’s campaign by depositing the support amount at account no 1960100102070004 of the Rastriya Banijya Bank and swift code ‘RBBANKA’.
