Minister Ghising’s directive to complete Parliament Building within December
Kathmandu, Sept 19: Minister for Physical Infrastructures, Kul Man Ghising, has shared that the under construction Federal Parliament building at Singha Durbar premises should be completed within coming December at any cost.
Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Ministry are also under the portfolio of Minister Ghising.
Minister Ghising in course of discussion with Secretary of Urban Development Ministry, Gopal Sigdel, consultants of Special Building Construction Project and Coordination Office, contractors today directed to forward activities in order to complete the construction of Federal Parliament Building within December.
“Now, there is no parliament building after New Baneshwor-based Federal Parliament Building was completely destroyed during Gen-Z protest. Construction activities should not be delayed in any pretext. All sides should be serious to complete the construction works,” he mentioned.
The Physical Infrastructure Minister asked to stop irregularities in agencies under his ministry and also warned of taking immediate action against those found involved in irregularities.
He also urged to improve in service delivery.
Meanwhile, Minister Ghising has directed the secretaries and departmental heads of three ministries to immediately prepare a list of dilapidated projects and submit the list.
Enquiring about the activities of the three ministries, he argued that contract of those contractors not completing the projects on time and putting the projects on limbo would be scrapped.
“We must terminate the contract of dilapidated projects and go through a new contract process. We cannot keep projects in limbo,” opined the Minister.
