PAPAD organizes greater peace rally on Constitution Day

Kathmandu, Sept 19: A greater peace rally has been organised on the occasion of the Constitution Day this morning.

The peace rally that began from Maitighar had reached Maitighar again via Bhadrakali, Shahid Gate, where it converged into a corner meet. The event organised by the Professional Alliance for Peace and Democracy (PAPAD) had a wide range of participation from citizens affiliated with various professions, such as constitutional experts, journalists, lawyers, human rights activists, teachers, and intellectuals.

In the rally, the participants were seen with placards reading ‘Let us protect the constitution’, ‘Let us establish good governance’, ‘Let us keep peace’, among others. This day has been celebrated in commemoration of the day when the Nepal Constitution was promulgated on 3rd Asoj 2072 BS. Participants emphasised the need to amend and reform the Constitution in line with the recent adverse circumstances in the country.
