Preparation underway to resume service delivery from Sunday

Gandaki: Preliminary details of loss and damage caused to the ministries, commissions, government offices and quarters of the Gandaki province government during the Gen-Z protests have been collected.

Spokesperson of Gandaki Province Government and Minister for Economic Affairs, Dr Tak Raj Gurung, shared that all ministries except the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management, Health Ministry, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives were vandalised and torched during the protests.

A team comprising the Chief Minister on Tuesday inspected all the damaged structures and collected the preliminary details of loss. He mentioned that responsibility was given to the Physical Infrastructure Development Ministry to collect the actual details of the structures that should be reconstructed and repaired by Thursday.

Forty-three four-wheelers and 102 two-wheelers belonging to the ministries and their subordinate agencies were torched and the province government suffered unimaginable physical loss, added Spokesperson Dr Gurung.

He further mentioned that preparation was underway to operate regular services from the ministries and offices from Sunday.

It would take some time to provide full-fledged services from the ministries and other offices as cleaning rumbles of damaged office buildings, painting and repair and maintenance was underway, he opined.
