Vows to hand over power to new parliament after elections
Kathmandu: Newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki has assumed office this afternoon at Singha Durbar.
After taking charge, Prime Minister Karki said she had accepted the responsibility entrusted by the Gen Z Movement and would hand over authority to a new parliament and government following timely elections.
Expressing sorrow over the losses caused during the protests, the Prime Minister stressed that she had not assumed office for power or position.
The Prime Minister also urged government secretaries to focus on rebuilding damaged structures through collective effort.
President Ramchandra Paudel appointed Karki to the post of Prime Minister of the Interim Government on the 12th of September.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Karki garlanded the statues of the martyrs at the martyrs’ memorial at Lainchaur and Sahidgate.
