Current political deadlock must be resolved within ambit of constitution
Kathmandu: Eight political parties represented in the dissolved House of Representatives have emphasized that solutions to all types of problems in a democratic and legal state should be in accordance with the constitution and current laws.
Issuing a joint press release today these parties stated that all bodies must operate according to the constitution and laws.
The eight parties have expressed strong disagreement with the dissolution of the House of Representatives, stating that actions contrary to the federal democratic republican constitution issued by the Constituent Assembly are unacceptable.
Emphasizing the need to maintain constitutional supremacy, the chief whips of the dissolved House of Representatives from the Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajwadi Party, Janamat Party, and Democratic Socialist Party, along with the chairman of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, have issued a statement demanding the correction of the parliament dissolution decision.
