PSB Nepal Chairperson Dr Bista elected AIBD Vice President
August 21, Kathmandu: Executive Chairperson of Public Service Broadcasting Nepal, Dr. Mahendra Bahadur Bista has been elected Vice President of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) at its 23rd General Assembly in Phuket, Thailand.
The assembly, concluding today, elected a new leadership team, with Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of India’s Prasar Bharati, chosen as President. The new executive committee also includes representatives from South Korea, Bhutan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, and Vietnam, who will serve a two-year term to advance AIBD’s mission of promoting media development across the Asia-Pacific region.
Held under the theme Media, Citizens, Peace, and Prosperity, the annual General Assembly gathered member countries, affiliated organisations, partners, and observers to review AIBD’s activities and chart future plans.
Discussions focused on strengthening public broadcasting, fostering regional collaboration, and developing frameworks for sustainable media initiatives that promote peace and prosperity.
