Create history by providing land titles to all landless: PM Oli
Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the central and district office-bearers of the Landless Problem Resolution Commission to create history by providing land ownership certificates to all the landless.
In his address to the annual review workshop of the Commission today, he asked the office bearers to perform with confidence as the incumbent government is a stable one. On the occasion, PM Oli instructed to give complete shape to the commission in the remaining districts within two weeks.
‘The commission was not formed for deficit performance as in the past. It was constituted to bring tangible results and free the landless people from the state of having no land,’ the PM asserted.
‘The landless and unmanaged settlers should get land. In this connection, the government will lend necessary support or amend the legal framework if needed,’ he added.
The coalition which was made in collaboration with two big political parties in the special context of the country will sustain till 2084 BS, he said, adding that the Commission should work taking the advantage of the stable government.
Also speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak expressed the commitment from the government to provide support for the implementation of the constitutional provision for the landless people to receive land ownership certificate.
Commission chairperson Hari Prasad Rijal informed that works are being carried out in coordination with all three tiers of the government.
