PM Oli holding feeting on fertilizer supply with Agriculture Minister and officials

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to hold a meeting this afternoon with Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Ramnath Adhikari, Secretary Dr. Govinda Prasad Sharma, and officials from the Agricultural Materials Company Limited to discuss the ongoing shortage of chemical fertilizers.

The meeting will take place at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar. Discussions will focus on ensuring the smooth supply of fertilizers, current farming conditions, and related issues.

Prime Minister Oli called the meeting following complaints that farmers are not receiving fertilizers on time, despite the availability of required stock and the continued arrival of additional consignments.

Earlier, ahead of the farming season, Prime Minister Oli had directed the Ministry to prevent any fertilizer shortage, initiate plans to establish a chemical fertilizer plant in Nepal, and promote the production and use of organic fertilizers.

The Prime Minister has given high priority to resolving the fertilizer supply issue, recognizing its importance to the agricultural sector and farmers’ livelihoods.
