President Paudel receives Janai and Raksha Bandhan

Kathmandu: President Ram Chandra Paudel has received the sacred thread (Janai) and Raksha Bandhan today as per Vedic rituals, on the occasion of Janai Purnima and Raksha Bandhan.

According to the Presidential Secretariat, President Paoudel and First Lady Savita Paudel were offered the Vedic Raksha Bandhan by Pandit Arjun Neupane at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas. The President’s relatives also took part in the ritual.

Earlier today, President Paudel extended his best wishes to all Nepalis at home and abroad for happiness, peace, good health, and progress on the occasion of Janai Purnima, Rishi Tarpani, and Raksha Bandhan.

In his message, the President expressed confidence that this festival, celebrated by performing Navayagya and tying Raksha Bandhan, would help strengthen mutual relationships and goodwill among Nepalis.

Highlighting the unique significance of Janai Purnima and Rishi Tarpani, the President said such festivals reflect Nepal’s rich diversity of castes, languages, cultures, and traditions, and contribute to promoting unity, harmony, and national solidarity.
