Basic hospital in Baglung prepares to provide dialysis service
Galkot (Baglung), Aug 5: A 15-bed basic hospital of Badigad Rural Municipality in Baglung district is working to provide dialysis service for the kidney patients shortly.
To run the dialysis service, the rural municipality received five sets of dialysis equipment worth Rs 10 million. Chairperson of the rural municipality, Gandaki Thapa Adhikari, shared that the dialysis machines were brought as part of the ongoing preparations to provide services soon.
She shared that Badigad is most probably the first local government in the country to provide dialysis service from its basic hospital. The hospital buildings were constructed recently at the Gwalichaur area of the rural municipality with a total cost of Rs 180 million. Dhaulagiri Hospital in Baglung district headquarters is also providing dialysis services.
The Badigad Rural Municipality and Sahid Dharmabhakta National Transplant Centre, Bhaktapur, had signed an agreement paper a year ago for the beginning of the service in Badigad. Likewise, the rural municipality is also making preparations for hiring human resources.
