Parliamentary special committee prepares report on cooling-off period controversy
Kathmandu, Aug 5: The parliamentary special committee formed by the House of Representatives (HoR) to study and probe the wrongdoings committed in the drafting of the report on the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2080 BS, completed its report.
The report is likely to be presented in today’s HoR meeting, committee member Madhav Sapkota said. The committee finalised its report in 29 days by holding 37 meetings. The HoR had formed the parliamentary special committee on July 7 as per the HoR Regulations.
It is said that the committee prepared the report by holding consultations with the experts and stakeholders by exploring how such errors happen and what measures should be applied to avert such errors and apply precautions in the future.
The committee formed under the Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Jivan Pariyar had the NC lawmaker Sushila Thing, CPN (UML) lawmakers Narayan Prasad Acharya and Ishwari Gharti, CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Madhav Sapkota, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Ganesh Parajuli and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Roshan Karki as the members.
