11 highways blocked nationwide due to rain-induced landslides and floods
Kathmandu: Eleven major highways across Nepal have been completely blocked due to floods and landslides triggered by continuous rainfall since Saturday evening, according to the Police Headquarters.
The blocked roads include the Koshi Highway in Sankhuwasabha, Mechi Highway and Tamor Corridor in Panchthar, and the Mid-Hill Highway in Panchthar.
Similarly, the Pasang-Lhamu Highway in Rasuwa, Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung, Jomsom-Lomanthang Road in Mustang, Shahid Highway in Rolpa, Jajarkot-Dolpa Bheri Corridor in Rukum West, and the Mahakali Highway in Baitadi are also completely obstructed.
Additionally, several road sections are operating under one-way traffic. These include the Tokha–Nuwakot road section in Kathmandu, Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung Municipality, Mid-Hill Highway in Galkot (Baglung), Kaligandaki Corridor in Nawalparasi East, and Shahid Highway in Parivartan Rural Municipality of Rolpa.
