RSP demands formation of parliamentary probe committee
Kathmandu: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has demanded the formation of a parliamentary probe committee on tampering with the provision relating to the cooling-off period in the Civil Service Bill that was passed by the House of Representatives last Sunday.
Despite a unanimous consensus in the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee for the provision of a two-year cooling-off time in the Bill, dramatic insertion of a proviso rendering the cooling-off period ineffective prompted furore among the lawmakers, parliament secretariat officials and observers alike.
To this, the RSP party secretariat meeting demanded a probe committee to find out facts on the misdeed regarding the bill document. It is time to regain trust in parliament, said Manish Jha, party spokesperson.
The secretariat meeting also dwelt on the selection of a candidate for the by-election being held in Rupandehi constituency no 3, coming November.
Similarly, the party decided to continue the agitation in legislature parliament over the visit visa scam and demand of resignation by Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
The central departments of the party would be made further active, Jha added.
