Riyadh to host 2025 Esports World Cup with record-breaking prize pool

June 30, Kathmandu: The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has unveiled details for the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC), set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 7 to August 24. The global event will feature a massive prize pool of over $70 million, the largest in esports history, attracting over 2,000 professional players and 200 top clubs from more than 100 countries, including participants from Nepal.

The 2025 EWC will include 25 tournaments across 24 popular games, introducing new titles such as chess, Crossfire, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and VALORANT. These games span multiple genres, offering diverse opportunities for players and fans worldwide.

A highlight of the event is the Club Championship, where the top 16 clubs will compete for a share of a $27 million prize pool, with the winning club earning $7 million. Individual game tournaments will offer over $38 million in prizes, and standout players can vie for best player awards worth $450,000.

This global esports spectacle underscores Riyadh’s growing role as a hub for international gaming.
