Mahakali River swells, four-wheeled vehicles banned at Sharada Barrage

Dodhara Chandani (Kanchanpur): Authorities have banned the movement of four-wheeled vehicles at the Sharada Barrage after water flow in the Mahakali River surged due to continuous rainfall.

According to DSP Sagar Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Office, the ban has been enforced after the river’s flow reached 1 hundred 15 thousand cusecs yesterday, surpassing the 100 thousand cusec safety threshold.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of possible heavy rainfall across Far Western Province until mid-July and urged the public to remain alert.
