PM Oli arrives in Spain for UN Development Conference
Madrid (Spain): Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has arrived in Madrid to attend the United Nations Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, being held in Seville from June 30th to July 3rd.
The Prime Minister was welcomed at Adolfo Suarez Barajas International Airport by Nepali Ambassador to Spain Shanil Nepal, Nepal’s Permanent Representative to the UN Lok Bahadur Thapa, and senior Spanish foreign ministry officials.
PM Oli is leading the Nepali delegation at the invitation of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. The delegation is scheduled to reach Seville later today.
During the visit, PM Oli will address the conference in his capacity as Chair of the Global Coordination Bureau of the Least Developed Countries. He will also chair and address various high-level and side events.
In addition, he will hold bilateral meetings with world leaders and pay courtesy calls on Spanish King Philip VI and Prime Minister Sanchez. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet with the Nepali diaspora in Spain.
Prime Minister Oli is expected to return home on July 4th.
