Health Minister Paudel reaffirms Nepal’s commitment to advancing digital health

Bangkok: Health Minister Pradip Paudel has highlighted Nepal’s ongoing efforts in the digital health sector while addressing the United Nations Regional Ministerial Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, today.

Health Minister Paudel reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to integrating fragmented health data, noting that policy decisions have already been made to consolidate citizen health statistics.

He explained that Nepal has begun linking population information with citizen identification cards and is working toward integrating related health data.

Addressing challenges in policy-making caused by fragmented data, Minister Paudel emphasized that inter-ministerial cooperation will be strengthened to advance digital health reforms.

Joint Secretary Dhundiraj Niraula expressed that positive feedback from the Asia-Pacific region has encouraged Nepal to intensify its digital health initiatives.

He added that the Ministry is preparing to introduce a population policy soon, in which the digital system will play a vital role.
