CTEVT should run a nursing program: Education Minister Pant

June 25, Kathmandu: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuji Pant said the is a need for Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT)-affiliated institutes to implement a nursing program due to rising student numbers.

At the 208th Council meeting of CTEVT on Tuesday, he advocated for a consolidated proposal to be presented at the cabinet meeting for collaboration with public hospitals at both the federal and provincial levels for the nursing program.

Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Paudel, suggested focusing on provincial hospitals for coordination due to complexities in the health sector. He supported policy decisions allowing both Certificate-level and Bachelor ‘s-level nursing programs to be offered in a single hospital.

The meeting also included discussions on changing the names of educational institutes, ownership transfers, resuming suspended programs, and finalising the affiliation and approval processes.
