Kaligandaki corridor blocked

Gulmi, June 17: The Kaligandaki corridor, blocked after the rockslide on Monday, is awaiting resumption.

The rockslide and mud deposited on the road at Baralla of Kaligandaki rural municipality-6 in the district blocked vehicular movement. Rural municipality chairman Bed Bahadur Thapa informed that although efforts were continued till Monday night to clear the obstruction, the rock and mudslide continued.

A police team led by Assistant Inspector of Police, Dev Bahadur Bhujel, has been mobilized from Bhurtung toward the incident site, according to Inspector of Police, Narayan Prasad Adhikari. Everyone concerned has been urged to adopt an alternative route following the road disruption.

The passengers traveling via the corridor to reach Parbat, Baglung and Pokhara have been badly affected by the road blockade.
