Couple die while electrofishing in Morang

Sundarharaicha (Morang): A couple lost their lives due to an electric shock on Saturday while attempting to electrofish in the Madeli River at Sundarharaicha municipality-7 in Morang district.

According to the Spokesperson of the District Police Office, DSP Kopila Chundal, the deceased have been identified as 58-year-old resident Purna Bahadur Limbu, and his spouse, 52-year-old Phulmaya Limbu.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident occurred beneath the river bridge, where the couple was using electricity from a nearby electric pole to catch fish. Both died on the spot.

Their bodies have been sent to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, for post-mortem examinations. Further investigations into the incident are underway.
