Tragic Air India crash: Nepal expresses deep condolences

June 12, Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has expressed deep shock and sadness over the tragic crash of Air India flight AI 171 in Ahmedabad, India, today.

In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal has extended its heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of India, as well as to the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in this unfortunate incident.

The Air India flight AI 171 had 230 passengers and 12 crew members on board. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, striking a residential area near the Meghani Nagar neighbourhood.

Similarly, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba also took to her X account to express her condolences.
