Export entrepreneurs submit key economic suggestions to PM Oli
Kathmandu: The Federation of Export Entrepreneurs Nepal has submitted a set of recommendations to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, focusing on building national capital, boosting employment, and reducing imports through increased exports.
A delegation led by newly elected Federation President Govinda Prasad Ghimire presented a seven-point memorandum at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar today. The Federation urged the government to prioritize export-driven economic strategies in the upcoming fiscal budget, especially in light of the ongoing economic slowdown and unaddressed challenges.
Among the key proposals were the expedited construction of the International Exhibition Center, attracting foreign vendors to Nepal, and declaring 2026 to 2030 as an “Export Promotion Period” to encourage investment and tourism.
Prime Minister Oli congratulated the Federation’s new leadership and assured that the government values their input. While acknowledging the current limitations in providing direct support, he emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to identify feasible and practical alternatives to strengthen the export sector.
