Finance Minister Paudel says budget aims to ensure effective use of resources

Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said the budget for the fiscal year has been designed to ensure effective and disciplined use of resources.

Speaking at a discussion on infrastructure and budget implementation organized by the Nepal Infrastructure Journalists Society today, Finance Minister Paudel claimed that the budget balances national needs with available resources and seeks to prevent misuse.

He added that capital expenditure has been managed with budget discipline in mind and that reforms to the Public Procurement Act will continue with stakeholder input.

Likewise, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Prof. Dr. Shivaraj Adhikari, pledged the Commission’s role in ensuring effective budget implementation through strict monitoring and supervision.
