Seven tourist buses escorted to their destinations
Chitwan: The District Police Office (DPO) in Chitwan has safely and successfully escorted ten stranded tourist buses at Sauraha of Chitwan to their respective destinations amid a strike called by the transport entrepreneurs.
According to DSP Rabindra Khanal, of the DPO Chitwan, seven buses bound to Kathmandu and three heading towards Pokhara from Sauraha were unable to set out to their respective destinations due to the ongoing strike.
It may be noted that the transport entrepreneurs have launched a nationwide shutdown of public transportation, protesting the ride-sharing services-related legislation introduced by the Gandaki Province government.
DSP Khanal mentioned that police escorted those buses up to the district’s border using motorcycles to ensure the safety of the tourists and the vehicles. He said that the buses travelling towards Pokhara were escorted up to Mugling, while Kathmandu-bound buses were escorted up to Mouwakhola.
