Vigilance stepped up at Birgunj border amid rising COVID-19 cases in India
Birgunj (Parsa): Health screenings have been intensified at the Birgunj border checkpoint following a surge in COVID-19 cases in neighboring India.
Travelers entering from Raxaul are now subject to mandatory temperature checks, and are being provided with masks and sanitizers.
The move comes after a meeting of the Parsa District Health Crisis Management Committee. Birgunj Mayor Rajesh Man Singh has inspected the health desk at the checkpoint, emphasizing the need for extra caution in border regions.
Health workers have been deployed to operate the screening center, which has been equipped with essential medical supplies to help prevent a potential outbreak.
