Dubai hosts Fifth Silk Road International Poetry Festival, honors Sheikh Mohammed

May 26, Kathmandu: Dubai is currently hosting the fifth Silk Road International Poetry Festival from May 23-29, marking it as the first Arab city to stage this prestigious event.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Library will host the award ceremony on May 27. The World Silk Road Forum has named Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, as the Inspirational Literary Figure for Silk Road Poets.
Celebrated for transforming Dubai into a cultural bridge between East and West, Sheikh Mohammed’s Nabati poetry, including Zayed and Flashes of Verse, explores heritage and human themes.
Around 50 poets and artists are participating, visiting UAE landmarks, with 20 Chinese media outlets, including People’s Daily, providing coverage. Emirati poet Adel Khozam serves as co-chair, strengthening China-UAE cultural ties through awards like the Golden Camel.
