PM Oli urges UML representatives to unite for “Mission 2084” and ensure clear majority

Lalitpur: Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli, has called on local representatives to strengthen their connection with the party and the people, urging unified efforts toward the party’s long-term vision, “Mission 2084”, to secure a clear majority in the upcoming elections.

Speaking at the inauguration of a training program for elected ward chairpersons of Bagmati Province, PM Oli emphasized the role of local leaders in promoting development, good governance, and efficient public service delivery. He stressed that UML representatives must maintain strong ties with the party even after being elected.

PM Oli also urged all UML representatives to stand together in pursuit of “Mission 2084″—a campaign to secure a clear and decisive majority for the party in the upcoming electoral cycle.

PM Oli described the UML as a party founded on the principles of real democracy and national integrity, claiming it has overcome multiple conspiracies intended to discredit or divide it. He accused both domestic and foreign elements, as well as rival leftist factions, of attempting to weaken UML’s influence.

Taking a swipe at former allies, leader Oli singled out Maoist Center leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), accusing him of spreading false claims about UML leadership, and criticized former UML leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal for failing to lead effectively and later conspiring against the party.

He urged party members to stay united and avoid internal disputes, noting that external forces are taking advantage of divisions to undermine the UML.

Addressing the growing public outcry over corruption and cooperative fraud, Oli dismissed these voices as attempts by corrupt individuals and political opportunists to confuse the public.

He also commented on recent monarchist agitation, asserting that there is no valid basis for returning to monarchy and that UML should not be demoralized by such reactionary movements. He called for readiness to counter planned protests by these groups on May 29.

Reflecting on past elections, Oli claimed the UML lost in 2064 BS due to intimidation by Maoist forces but emphasized that the current political landscape has changed. “2064 BS will not return, nor will the Maoists rise again,” he stated. “UML is now the strongest party in the country. We must embrace this identity and lead Nepal toward prosperity and good governance.”
