Proposal seeking deliberation on Bill to amend ‘Some Nepal Act-2080’ unanimously approved in NA
Kathmandu, May 19: The meeting of the National Assembly (NA) here today unanimously approved the proposal seeking deliberations on the Bill designated to amend some Nepal Acts-2080 BS.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajaya Kumar Chaurasiya presented the Bill along with a message received from the House of Representatives (HoR).
The Bill made it to the Upper House, NA, from the Lower House, House of Representatives, for an extensive discussion and review.
Earlier in the theoretical discussion on the Bill, Minister Chaurasiya responded to the queries raised by parliamentarians on the Bill and explained that the Bill was introduced to address some difficulties and problems encountered during implementation of the Nepal Act.
He further described that the Bill was brought forward to fix certain technical flaws in the Bill to make it more effective.
During the meeting, parliamentarians such as Gopi Bahadur Sarki Achami, Jagat Prasad Sharma, Bishnu Kumari Sapjkota and Maya Prasad Sharma among others had expressed their views on the Bill as well as had furnished suggestions.
The NA is holding its next meeting on coming Wednesday, May 21 at 1:15 pm.
