Remarkable progress in adjudication, claims CJ Raut
Kathmandu: Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut has said the Supreme Court has witnessed a remarkable progress in the adjudication of late.

CJ Raut said it during a programme organised on the occasion of the 73rd Law Day-2082 today. The number of cases pending for over five years will be reduced to zero by mid-July 2026, while those pending for over eight years will be reduced to zero by mid-July, according to him.
‘The old cases pending for long were being reduced in the last three years,’ he shared, claiming that the SC has achieved in finalising any sort of cases within one and a half years. He vowed to make the adjudication effective with the enforcement of the fifth 5-year strategic plan, ensure citizens’ access to justice, promote public trust in the judiciary and expand technology in the judiciary.
According to him, the efforts relating to judicial reform were gaining pace. The workforce in the judicial sector would be made more optimistic, he added.
‘Today is observed as the Law Day that marks the practical enforcement of the rule of law, independent judiciary, separation of power and checks and balances,’ he reminded, wishing all concerned success in establishing the rule of law.
The Law Day is observed every year on Baisakh 26, commemorating the day of the establishment of the Pradhan Nyayalaya, Chief Court on Baisakh 26, 2009.
