President Paudel calls for ensuring citizens’ equal access to healthcare facilities

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has insisted on the citizens’ equal access to quality healthcare facilities as per the spirit of the Constitution.

Addressing the 23rd anniversary of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) here today, the President reminded citizens of the Constitutional guarantee of citizens’ access to health and education. He also expressed his hope that medical professionals will consider these constitutional provisions and carry out their profession as a service.

Expressing his happiness over the production of skilled medical resources within the country with quality enhancement in the service, the President underscored the need for collective efforts to prevent the brain drain of medical professionals.

Acknowledging the role of the NAMS as the medical service provider and as the teaching hospital, he pledged all sorts of support to further enhance its services and research initiatives.
