Minister Bhandari pledges to assure workers’ rights

May 1, Kathmandu: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Sharat Singh Bhandari has said the government was committed to ensuring the rights of workers in domestic and foreign employment.

In a message of best wishes today on the occasion of the International Workers’ Day, he called upon all the working people and employers to come together towards the protection of labour rights, social justice and inclusive prosperity.

Stating that workers have an invaluable role to play in the country’s long-term prosperity and social progress, Minister Bhandari said that the reforms in laws and policies related to labour, including the Labour Act and the Foreign Employment Act, have been initiated.
