NCE Nepal presents memorandum to chief whips of political parties

Kathmandu, April 29: The National Campaign for Education Nepal (NCE) today submitted a memorandum jointly to various political parties, demanding the complete implementation of the Act relating to compulsory and free education- 2075 BS.

The NCE delegation today visited the Singha Durbar and presented the memorandum to Nepali Congress Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire, CPN (UML) Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey.

In the memo, it has stated that Article 32(2) of the Constitution has guaranteed that every citizen shall have the right to get compulsory and free education up to the basic level and free education up to the secondary level from the State, but its implementation in real sense is awaited.

It has also expressed the wish for the School Education Act to be promulgated in accordance with the constitutional provision concerning the list of powers of local levels guaranteed under Schedule 8.
