CEO Joshi invites global leaders to Sagarmatha Sambad 2025

April 25, Kathmandu: Nepal Tourism Board CEO Deepak Raj Joshi has urged global leaders to join the Sagarmatha Sambad 2025, or Mount Everest Dialogue, set for May 15-17, 2025, in Kathmandu. Named after the world’s highest peak, this international forum tackles pressing issues like climate change and sustainability.

At the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) summit in Istanbul (April 21-23), Joshi promoted Nepal’s eco-tourism and community-based tourism initiatives. He also invited tourism professionals to the Himalayan Travel Mart (June 3-5, 2025) to highlight Nepal’s cultural and natural diversity.

A partnership with PATA was formalised to develop a “Tourism White Paper” and advance sustainable tourism. Discussions with Global Sustainable Tourism Council CEO Randy Durband centred on destination certification and capacity building, reinforcing Nepal’s commitment to establishing its tourism sector as a sustainable, globally recognised destination.
