Government committed to ending all sorts of bonded labour: DPM Paudel

Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said that the government was committed to resolving the issues linked with the bonded labour since the practice was already prohibited in the country.

At a meeting with the representatives of the National Agriculture Bonded Labourer Struggle Committee in Singhadurbar today, the Finance Minister said the government was preparing plans, as some issues of resettlement of some of the freed bonded labourers were still unsolved.

Minister Paudel stated that the government was serious about the concerns of uncompleted settlement drive of the free bonded labourers including those of Kamaiya, Kamlari, Harawacharawa, Haliya and others.
