On Air Station:

Misleading publicity is worrying: Minister Dr Rana

Kathmandu: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has said it was worrying to see the misleading publicity that nothing has happened in the country. It is an attempt to defame the country, she argued.

During a programme organised to release a book penned by Dr Maheshwori Kunwar in the capital on Thursday, Minister Dr Rana reminded that the diplomatic community was, however, making positive notes on Nepal’s activities. It is wrong to claim that Nepal did no noticeable development after 2046 BS, she asserted.

“Every village has access to roads and health facilities now. The development in communications and information technology has made a stride,” she said, adding that the media should make the utmost publicity of the positive developments the country witnessed.

The Minister further said the works to ensure change for people are impeded by the strike and political disputes. All sides concerned should be united for the country’s prosperity, she informed.

On the occasion, Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Bahadur Singh Lama, seconded the Foreign Minister that country had witnessed positive developments on the infrastructures front with the establishment of loktantantra.

Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Surendra Raj Pande, said the province government had prioritized infrastructure development by declaring Pokhara city a tourism capital of Nepal.

Writer Dr Kunwar shared that the book she wrote would be helpful to know about Nepal and specificities in the wake of provincial setup.
