NTB at work to ease cross-border movement of Indian tourists
Kathmandu: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has said it was at work to facilitate the cross-border movement of Indian tourists visiting Nepal.
Senior Director at NTB, Hikmat Singh Air, informed that efforts were underway at the policy level to facilitate the cross-border travel of Indian tourists by incorporating religious and adventure tourism. He shared this information during a session relating to ‘sustainable tourism’ in the Nepal Festival organised at the Nepali Embassy, New Delhi, on Tuesday.
“India is the largest source of tourists for Nepal, so Nepal has planned to extend cooperation on tourism promotion. The tourism promotion would be forwarded with a long-term vision,” he added.
The festival was conducted jointly by the Nepali Embassy and Everest Chamber of Commerce and Industries in a bid to strengthen cultural and economic relations between Nepal and India.
The NTB had a pavilion in the festival attended by dignitaries from the two countries. The visitors inspected the Nepali stalls and tasted Nepali cuisines. Handicrafts and local products were also displayed on the occasion.
