Government to hold high-level talks to address agitating teachers’ demands amid their threat to boycott Grade 12 exams

Kathmandu: The government is preparing to hold high-level talks to address the demands put forward by the agitating Nepal Teachers’ Federation.

The government is now moving toward high-level discussions, following the Ministry of Education’s unsuccessful attempt to form a formal negotiation team.

In this regard, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and Education Minister Bidya Bhattarai are holding a meeting today to review the teachers’ demands.

They ministers are holding the meeting after the Teachers’ Federation announced plans to intensify their movement—halting educational activities and boycotting the upcoming Grade 12 exams.

The government is also preparing to hold formal talks with representatives of the Teachers’ Federation later today.

There is growing concern that the federation’s decision could disrupt the Grade 12 exams, which are scheduled to begin from April 24th.
