Nepali Army’s contribution to peacekeeping, distinctive: PM Oli
April 11, Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has praised the Nepali Army for its exceptional contributions to infrastructure development, nature conservation, and disaster management.
Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Nepali Army at Kharipati, Bhaktapur on Friday, to confer the rank of commissioned officers to cadets, PM Oli highlighted the army’s significant role in safeguarding the nation and promoting peace in conflict-ridden countries worldwide.
PM Oli emphasized that in an era of dynamic, multidimensional, and challenging global security dynamics, Nepal required capable human resources to ensure national security. During the event, he also inspected a parade and conferred ranks to the graduates of various officer cadet training programs. He also awarded khukuris as prizes to outstanding cadets and officers.
The ceremony was attended by First Lady Radhika Shakya, Defense Minister Manbir Rai, PM’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal, Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel, and other dignitaries.
