Fire in Achham Jayagadh Bazaar: Initial estimate of damage over Rs 70 million
Achham: A fire that broke out in Achham Jayagadh Bazaar last night due to a cooking gas cylinder explosion has caused damage worth over Rs 70 million.
Achham Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ishwori Prasad Bhandari, informed that a total of 27 houses, shops and other properties in Jayagadh Bazaar have been damaged worth over Rs 70 million.
The fire started at 7:20 pm on Tuesday from a remittance center operated by local Pushpa Raj Sharma.
After five hours of continuous efforts, the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, locals and the fire brigade of Mangalsen Municipality brought the fire under control.
Achham Police has informed that they are collecting more details regarding the damage to property caused by the fire, and the other damages are being assessed.
